East Town Association
As a nonprofit organization, East Town Association’s mission is to use our events and programs to cultivate a vibrant community experience, enhancing the East Town neighborhood image and appeal, and preserving and celebrating our rich heritage.
These vibrant, diverse events, including Bastille Days, Jazz in the Park and the Cathedral Square Market, have become a beloved intersection of Milwaukeeans, part of the fabric of our community. Your support and attendance keep them alive and well. Your donation and each of your purchases at our merchandise, food, and beverage tents help offset the high costs of production, permits, and staffing needed to keep these events free, safe, and fun for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Every dollar builds community.
Your contribution makes a difference.
Buys a French dinner for one of our incredible Bastille Days Festival volunteers, working full days to make the festival go.
Underwrites space for local chef and activist, Chef Arty from The Nest Culinary School, to provide FREE, nutritional and educational cooking classes for kids and families at the Cathedral Square Market each week.
Provides an estimated 10-minutes of musical entertainment on one of our Bastille Days Festival stages by a musician or band from our local arts community.
Covers the cost of one security guard for an evening of Jazz in the Park - ensuring our history as a safe, conflict-free venue continues long into the future.
Funds nearly half of ONE night’s Milwaukee County Parks permit fee for Jazz in the Park operation, directly supporting our great parks department in their efforts to better playgrounds, trails & natural areas, community centers, aquatic & athletic facilities, and parkways & bridges in the Milwaukee community.
East Town Association’s small but mighty team of two works year-round to connect and engage our neighbors and prepare for our signature summer events. With nearly 40 years of history in Downtown Milwaukee's Cathedral Square Park, our major events include Bastille Days, Jazz in the Park and the Cathedral Square Market - all free and open to the public. On a smaller scale, we host monthly Member Mixers at East Town businesses, dive into relevant Milwaukee content at our East Town Coffee Connections panel speaker series, and collaborate with members on periodic one-off learning experiences through Lunch & Learns.
If you live, work, or spend time in East Town, we encourage you to support the many opportunities the East Town Association brings to this Milwaukee community. Please spend some time looking through the rest of our website, and reach out if you would like to discuss a great idea for engagement with us: Emily McElwee, email@example.com; Lauren Nachtigall, Lnachtigall@easttown.com.
